SynopsisEdit

Based on James Michener’s Tales of the South Pacific. Set in the south sea islands during World War II, American army nurse Nellie Forbush, falls in love with middle-aged French planter, Emil de Becque. But she is disturbed when she discovers that he has fathered 2 children by a Polynesian woman, now deceased. There is a subplot in which Lieutenant Cable, a white American, falls in love with a Polynesian girl.
